Ethan Allen Furniture – American Style and Craftsmanship since 1932

When I was a very young woman I remember accompanying my Mother to our local  Ethan Allen store to help her pick out new furniture for her living and dining rooms.  Then many years later she accompanied me to pick out my first sofa for my first apartment.  I chose the most elegant loveseat with the perfect fabric and boy did I think I had arrived when that sofa arrived!  And now as an interior designer,  I travel to Ethan Allen with my clients to assist them with their furniture needs.   Oh and that furniture Mom and I bought at Ethan Allen a million years ago?  Well its all still thriving…just last week I repainted Moms 6 Queen Anne dining chairs the most perfect shade of cream yellow to bring them into the 21st century and my loveseat from 25 years ago has been reupholstered and now resides in my master bedroom.  Good style never dies and great quality lasts a lifetime.

Exciting new American Colors line.

Ethan Allen, (named after the revolutionary war hero who played a major role in getting Vermont admitted as the 14th state), was established by two gentlemen 80 years ago in Beecher Falls, Vermont.  Today it is a premier American Brand with over 280 stores all over the world!   This being their 80th anniversary the company is launching its American Colors line which is inspired by the various hues and regional sensibilities across the USA!  Think of the warm tones of a desert sunset; the turquoise skies of the pacific; a canopy of green trees in Savannah; and the indigo and sandy colors of my New England shoreline.  There are 11 delicious colors and 13 various finishes offered for this line and all sure to refresh and inspire.  The entire line is Made in the USA!

Ethan Allen’s upholstery facility is in Maiden, North Carolina and the case goods are manufactured in Orleans, Vermont where  they obtain the wood  from managed forests.  The lighting and many accessories are made in Passaic, New Jersey.   Skilled craftspeople work on every step of a customers order from assembly, sanding, painting, upholstering and stitching.    OK so enough talk.  The proof is in the product….I am really excited to show you these fabulous made in America furnishings!
