Brighten your day with Made in the USA!

During these never ending cold, gray Winter months here are three quick and fun ways to brighten any day with Made in the USA!

100 Percent Pure Brightening scrub.  This is a brightening and smoothing scrub.  Fruit acids and gentle brighteners rejuvenate while jojoba beads buff away flakes and dullness.  I have been using this scrub and the delicious grapefruit scent makes me so happy plus it is gentle yet works.  For me the best part of this whole line of products is that every single ingredient is truly 100% natural and organic….just read the ingredients you will recognize every item…all fruits and plants!  Their body lotions, face serums, hair care products are all super fruit infused and Made in the USA!  Check out everything at:

Style Made in the USA Holiday Gift Guide

During this season of gift giving my Christmas wish is that we all make a big effort to support American business and buy American made!  Here is a selection of some of my favorite stylish USA made gifts to give and receive.

REWINED CANDLES handmade in Charleston, SC.   Each candle has been handcrafted from a repurposed wine bottle. The fragrances are carefully blended to mimic the flavors and aromas found in various wines and champagne.  How about a Pinot Noir (aroma of fig, cranberry, leather and earth) or Champagne (white grape, honey, fresh baked bread and citrus), to name just a few.

CRAFTY YANKEE – Lexington, MA.  Nestled in the heart of historic Lexington Massachusetts this charming retail shop is just a glance away from the Minuteman Statue.  The shop proprietor, Kathy Fields reminded me that New England is steeped in tradition especially during Christmas when families unpack keepsakes that have been in their families for decades or more.  Adding to those collectables or starting your own tradition is a fun way to shop during the holidays.  Here are three great collections available at Crafty Yankee.

Byers' Choice figurines

BALL & BUCK  – Men’s Retail store located in Boston, MA.   Another Brick and Mortar store that I really admire since everything is made in America.  They have tons of stuff for guys such as shirts, belts, grooming items, denim, hats, and sporting attire to name a few categories.  Great website for you to order online but if you ever get to Newbury Street in Boston you should really check out their shop.

Nesting on Main – Concord Massachusetts

If you were to ask me to recommend a retail shop where you would find lots of one-of-a-kind gifts, craftsman jewelry, home accents, and interesting vintage pieces  and you told me that it must be a fun shopping experience that is a feast for the eyes then I would tell you to visit Nesting on Main in historic Concord, Massachusetts.   Nesting on Main is even more inviting since they carry lots of  USA made products with many of them produced by small businesses all over America.

Come on up!

Located at 44 Main Street in Concord you walk up to this inviting  shop much like traveling up to a nest.  It is here you will begin your happy shopping experience with interesting rooms, nooks and corners filled to the brim with goodies.  Three women combined their talents and opened this shop.   The trio of Wendi Snider, Melissa Cox, and Beth Hylan have clearly hit the mark with both the mix of products and the way they display and merchandise every area of the store.

The day I visited Nesting on Main I spoke with Beth Hylan who makes a lovely line of jewelry called Beth Hyland Designs.  She uses vintage papers to make charms, necklaces, bracelets, and earrings and  all of her findings and components are American sourced.

Vintage paper charms by Beth Hylan Designs.

I love the crown accent piece and the winged jewelry dishes which are made in Atlanta, Georgia using antique molds.

Nothing updates a space quickly like new pillows.  These large linen/hemp pillows are made in New Hampshire.

Love these antique lampshades which are like a hanging art installation.

Even the smallest items are gems to discover.  These hand felted acorns are made by women in California and Vermont using real acorn tops!

Little cosmetic jars get enhanced with vintage button tops.

If you are fascinated with vintage ephemera: cards, papers, little booklets, tickets, small interesting documents, maps, post cards, etc then this is your store.  How about some musical paper scrolls from the 1800’s.

Lavender Shea soaps made on the west coast.

I would highly recommend this lovely shop.  During the Christmas season they do an outstanding job of transforming it  into a holiday extravaganza!  For more information and store hours, check out their website at

Until next time happy shopping!
